ga4 is confusing, half-implemented, and still wrong for most teams. we fix it properly — then keep it running on a managed retainer so it doesn't drift back.
"our ga4 was technically live but practically useless. chartica rebuilt it in two weeks and now we have clean events, a bigquery export, and a dashboard finance actually trusts." · vp of marketing, b2b saas
clean implementation: data streams, enhanced measurement, cross-domain tracking, and internal traffic filters all configured correctly from day one.
daily and streaming exports to your own gcp project. raw, unsampled event data — yours to query, model, and keep forever.
the events ga4 auto-tracks are rarely enough. we spec and implement the custom events your business actually needs to make decisions.
key conversions defined, tested, and verified. no more arguing about what counts as a lead or a purchase in the dashboard.
a dashboard built on your bigquery export — not the ga4 api — so there's no sampling and data matches what you query directly.
ga4 changes constantly. we absorb google's product updates, deprecation notices, and new features so you don't have to track them.
"we'd paid two freelancers to 'set up ga4' and it was still wrong. chartica audited what we had, rebuilt the event schema from scratch, got the bigquery export live, and built a dashboard our board uses monthly. took them twelve days."
ga4's bigquery export is free for most usage volumes — google charges only if you exceed the free tier query / storage limits, which most clients don't. the cost of running the gcp project is typically under £10/month. we'll be upfront about any infra costs during scoping.
the ga4 property sits in your google analytics account, so yes. the bigquery export goes into your own gcp project — again, entirely yours. we never have unilateral access to move or delete your data. you can revoke our service account access at any time.
yes, we support server-side gtm (sgtm) deployments via google cloud run or stape. server-side tagging improves data quality significantly — ad blockers miss it, ios consent barriers are less disruptive, and you get first-party data for ga4. we scope it as a separate workstream if needed.
a clean ga4 implementation typically takes 10–14 days from kickoff: property setup, bigquery export live, custom events implemented, dashboard built. if you're migrating from an existing ua setup or need sgtm, add 1–2 weeks. we'll give you a realistic timeline in the scope call.
google does not allow direct import of ua data into ga4. what we can do: export your historical ua data to bigquery before google deletes it (they stopped processing new hits in july 2023 and deleted historical data in july 2024), and model ua and ga4 data side by side in the warehouse. if your data is still intact, we can recover it.
